The Board of the International Phononics Society (IPS) solicits nominations for the 2023 Phononics Young Investigator Award. This award will be presented at Phononics 2023: 6th International Conference on Phononic Crystals/Metamaterials/Metasurfaces, Phonon Transport, and Topological Phononics to be held in Manchester, UK, June 12-16, 2023. The winners will also be invited to deliver a presentation at a special session at the conference.
The Phononics Young Investigator Award was inaugurated at Phononics 2015, and is presented to an early-career researcher who demonstrates research excellence in the field of phononics (including phononic crystals, acoustic/elastic metamaterials, nanoscale phonon transport, wave propagation in periodic structures, coupled phenomena involving phonons, topological phononics, and related areas). At the time of awarding, candidates must be under the age of 40 years, and be within 10 years of their terminal degree. Only individuals planning to attend Phononics 2023 may be nominated.
Nomination packages should include a letter of nomination, the candidate’s CV, and a maximum of 3 letters of support. Candidates may self-nominate. All nomination packages must be submitted electronically. The deadline for the receipt of nomination packages is 31 March 2023.
