The Board of the International Phononics Society (IPS) solicits nominations for the 2019 Phononics Young Investigator Award. This award will be presented at Phononics 2019: 5th International Conference on Phononic Crystals/Metamaterials, Phonon Transport, and Topological Phononics to be held in Tucson, Arizona, USA, June 2-7, 2019. The winner will also be invited to deliver a presentation at a special session at the conference.
The 2019 Phononics Young Investigator Award, which was inaugurated at Phononics 2015, is presented to an early-career researcher who demonstrates research excellence in the field of phononics (including phononic crystals, acoustic/elastic metamaterials, nanoscale phonon transport, wave propagation in periodic structures, coupled phenomena involving phonons, topological phononics, and related areas). At the time of awarding, candidates must be under the age of 40 years, and be within 10 years of their terminal degree. Only individuals with an already submitted abstract as presenting author in Phononics 2019 may be nominated.
Nomination packages should include a letter of nomination, the candidate’s CV, and a maximum of 3 letters of support. Candidates may self-nominate. All nomination packages must be submitted electronically. The deadline for the receipt of nomination packages is April 12, 2019.
