Transportation Information

Paris is very well connected to major cities around the World through two international airports: Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and Orly airport. From there, one can reach the conference site by train, public or private buses, and taxis.


From CDG airport - terminals 1, 2 or 3

Regional trains (RER B)

Regional trains leave terminal 1 and terminal 2 every 8-10 minutes between 05:00 am to 12:00 pm and reach the center of the city in about 40 minutes. The nearest station (within walking distance) from the conference site and hotels nearby is ‘St-Michel Notre-Dame’.

Subway (Métro)

If you are not intending to stay in a hotel nearby the conference site, you can connect to the subway network, at no extra cost, in one of the following stations: ‘Gare du Nord’, ‘Châtelet’, ‘St-Michel Notre Dame’; ‘Denfert Rochereau’ or ‘Cité Universitaire’.

Coaches (bus)

Roissy bus

’Roissy Bus’ is a bus line connecting CDG airport to the Opera district within 45-60 min. The buses depart from terminals 1, 2 and 3.

  • Terminal 1: Exit 32, arrivals level
  • Terminal 2A-2C : Exit 9
  • Terminal 2D : Exit D11
  • Terminal 2G: this terminal is linked to Terminal 2F (Exit 2.10) by the free N2 shuttle bus. The N2 shuttle bus runs from 05:30 to 23:00 (maximum service frequency: every 6 minutes; average journey time: 15 minutes).
  • Terminal 3: Arrivals hall

Service frequency: every 15 min from 05:30 am to 08:45 pm and every 20 min from 08:45 pm to 11:00 pm

Air France Bus

 ‘Air France Buses’ depart from terminals 1 and 2

  • Terminal 1: Exit 32 on the Arrivals level
  • Terminal 2A-2C: Exit C10
  • Terminal 2E-2F: Exit E8 or F9
  • Terminal 2G: this terminal is linked to Terminal 2F (Entrance 2.10) by the free N2 shuttle bus. The N2 shuttle bus runs from 05:30 to 23:00. (maximum service frequency: every 6 minutes; average journey time: 15 minutes).

Service frequency: every 30 min.

Line 2 allows reaching the Champs-Elysées district within 45-60 min.

Buses stop at ‘Porte Maillot’ and then ‘Place de l’Etoile’ stations. From there, connections to the subway network are available.

Line 4 allows reaching the two main railway stations in Paris namely ‘Gare de Lyon’ (40-50 min) and then ‘Gare Montparnasse’ (50-70 min). From there connections to the subway network are available.

Taxi

Taxis leave CDG airport at the exit to the baggage reclaim area of your arrival terminal:

  • Terminal 1: exit 24 on the arrivals level
  • Terminal 2A: exit 6
  • Terminal 2C: exit14
  • Terminal 2D: exit 7
  • Terminal 2E: gate 12 on the arrivals level
  • Terminal 2F: gate 11 on t the arrivals level
  • Terminal 2G: blue gate
  • Terminal 3: exit of the arrivals hall

Fare to the center of Paris: about €60.


From ORLY airport - terminals West or South

Coaches (bus)

’Orly Bus’ is a bus line connecting Orly airport to ‘Denfert-Rochereau’ station, on line B of the Regional trains network (RER B), within 30-40 min. From there, you can reach ‘St-Michel Notre Dame’ station within 10 min.

 

Service frequency: every 15-20 min from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm (11:30 pm on Monday to Thursday, Sundays and holidays).

Fare for a single journey: €7.20 (Orly bus) + 1.70€ (RER B).

Regional train (Orly Val)

’Orly Val’ is a rail transit line connecting Orly airport, terminals West and South, to ‘Anthony’ station on line B of the Regional trains network (RER B), within 10 min. From there, you can reach ‘St-Michel Notre Dame’ station within 20 min.

Service frequency: 4 to 7 min from 06:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Fare for a single journey: €11.70 (may be subject to modification).

‘Air France Buses’ depart from terminals West and South.

  • Paris-Orly West: Exit D on the Arrivals level
  • Paris Orly South: Exit L

Service frequency: every 20 min from 06:00 am to 11:40 pm.

Line 1 allows reaching the Champs-Elysées / Etoile district within 60 min.

Buses stop at ‘Gare Montparnasse’, ‘Invalides’ and ‘Place de l’Etoile’ stations. From there, connections to the subway network are available.
